This is our third set of Corelle (or maybe fourth) in 30 years. (I like to change patterns). I like dishes that are light weight enough that the children can set and clear the table. And sturdy enough that everything doesn’t get broken from their handling. These are lightweight, sturdy, and LOOK GREAT! That is important to me too.
I love stoneware, but it is highly unpractical for us – too heavy and easily broken. Tupperware is fine, but all plastic gets crummy looking after a while, and nice looking dishes are – nice. Corelle looks nice. With open stock available, I’m able to add extra pieces or even replace the occasional piece that does get chipped, so they keep looking nice.
I chose this pattern because of color and also because I wanted a cup and saucer, not a stoneware mug. Many of the sets have gone to the mugs.

I have owned corelle for 20 years. My last set before the Chutney was Abundance which was awesome!!! I just got tired of looking at it so bought this Chutney pattern to replace it. The Chutney is beautiful and I really liked it until all of the plates started to chip off on the edges. A couple of times I have opened my dishwasher to find a plate in several pieces after going through a cycle. Now my set is only about 2-3 years old and I have to buy new. I have cared for this set the same as the last so I think the plates are just made too thin. I am very disappointed with this pattern. I will buy Corelle again, I will just buy a pattern with thicker plates. The bowls have held up better than the plates. My abundance set was so much better and I am still using them as extras at least 10 years later and they still look new. The Chutney also has much smaller plates than previous patterns which I didn’t like. The colors have held up pretty good although there has been some fading. Look at it in person first before you buy.

When I got married, one of my bridal shower gifts was a set of Corelle. Everyone there OOO and Ahhed and assured me Corelle is the best. I exchanged it for this pattern because it’s so lively and colorful.
My husband is a clutz. I have 3 silly cats. I have TONS of friends that are in and out of the house every other day. My house is almost like the gang’s frat house. And yet in five years of such crazy handling, I have lost only ONE plate. And it was easy as pie to replace.
Corelle is thin, so it can pull off the look of fine china on holidays. But it also takes a beating for everyday use. And while I’ll admit I do have some stoneware plates so I can warm up leftovers in the oven sometimes… my Corelle is the plate of choice in my household.

I love this corelle pattern. I already have a set of it and needed another. One thing I was surprised to see, is that these pieces were made outside of the USA, where all of the corelle pieces that I already own are made in the USA. The color is a bit more orange, which I do not particularly like. I don’t know if this has anything to do with where it was manufactured or not, but I am assuming so.

Really didn’t have to get out the boxcutter out, with all the rattling I heard…received with over 50% of dishes broken. Terribly packaged, with only air-filled plastic bags used for padding. Sent it back for refund, still haven’t heard anything yet though.
I have seen quite a few other reviews by customers who received broken dishes. I guess it is best to buy dishes from brick-and-mortars.
