Corelle dishes really are the best! Lightweight and easy to handle, beautiful and timeless in design. I have always wanted to fill my kitchen with them! At this price I have been able to purchase several sets, enough for company!
Our family doesn’t use many mugs- and I was thrilled to find the sets with matching drinking glasses instead. They set an absolutely beautiful table.
If you enjoy a simple country design, you’ll love these dishes.
Corelle is durable and stays lovely for years– My mother still has the set (trimmed with yellow butterflies) I grew up with years ago! Just be careful not to drop a plate or bowl- they can really shatter!!
I love my set, and would absolutely order these again.

I have a two 20 Pc sets (not to be found now-a-days) bought 6 years back. Set includes one large dinner plate, a small plate, a cereal bowl, small bowl and a mug.
I have handled it very negligently past 6 yrs. Never broke a single one until recently when I dropped a bowl from a height. I needed more for company and bought open pieces from the same design at corelle shop.
They are light weight, havent discolored and still look like new.

I’ve been looking for an excuse to buy a whole new set of dishes when I found these. The dishes are thin but strong and its nice having matching glasses instead of cups, which would simply be hidden away unused in the cupboard. The bowls are a bit small and likewise are limited in their capabilities but I purchased this set primarily for the plates and glasses anyway. They are truly microwave safe unlike some sets which claim to be but still get hot to the touch. My only complaint is in their delivery. I purchased several sets and had a 25-33% breakage rate during shipping. Amazon replaced them with no questions asked though.

I AM DISSAPOINTED WITH THE GLASSES WITH THE SET. EVEN WITH HAND WASHING, THREE HAVE ALREADY BROKEN. I PURCHASED A SECOND SET, THIS TIME WITH THE MUGS. THEY SEEM TO BE QUITE DURABLE.

Corelle Livingware 16-Piece Dinnerware Set, Country Cottage
***** – Corelle Stands Behind Their Products
Many years ago, my wife and I had used Corelle dinnerware, and later replaced it with some far more expensive Pfaltzgraff dishes. We spent a boatload of cash on buying about every matching item for our Pfaltzgraff Tea Rose pattern that we could find. Over the years these Pfaltzgraff dishes have held up quite well, but every now and then a plate or bowl gets dropped, and they shatter when hitting the hard tile floor in our kitchen.
My wife has been providing child daycare in our home for the past several years, and she recently started wishing she still had our old Corelle bowls and plates, so she could use them for the children she watches every weekday. After purchasing a set of Corelle dinnerware, as a birthday gift, for a neighbor friend, my wife finally made the decision to purchase a couple of sets of Corelle dinnerware for our home, to be used specifically for casual dining (i.e., pizza, sandwiches, etc.), and for feeding the daycare children throughout the day. After browsing all patterns on the Corelle website, she decided on the Country Cottage pattern. We ordered two 16-piece dinnerware sets (with drinking glasses instead of coffee mugs), and 4 additional dinner plates.
The 16-piece dinnerware set includes 4 place settings. Each place setting consists of the following:
- 10-1/4″ Dinner Plate
- 6-3/4″ Bread and Butter Plate (also considered a dessert plate)
- 6-1/4″ Soup/Cereal Bowl
- 16-oz. Drinking Glass
This set is available with your choice of either the 16-oz. drinking glasses or 11-oz. stoneware mugs. The plates and bowls are white, with a soft green a blue floral pattern around the outer edge of the plates, and a simple double band (one green and one blue) around the rim of the bowls. The glasses are clear, with a slightly larger floral pattern (compared to the plates) around the glass (about ¼ of the way down from the top).
After receiving our order and unboxing all of the new dishes, we soon found that 3 of the 8 drinking glasses had defects in the glass, which looked like small air bubbles. Although we didn’t really care too much about how they looked, we were both afraid that the air bubbles may weaken the strength of the glasses, potentially allowing them to break easily. I decided to contact Corelle directly (via World Kitchen), as the included warranty paperwork suggested if a problem was detected with their product. The woman I spoke with was extremely friendly and apologetic about the problem we experienced with the glasses in our new dinnerware set. She immediately offered to send a set of 4 new drinking glasses, at no charge. I asked about sending the defective glasses back to them, but she said that we could just keep them or dispose of them as we wished. Wow, now THAT’S customer service!
I am very impressed with how Corelle stands behind their products, and we couldn’t be happier with our new Corelle Country Cottage dinnerware. The plates and bowls are made of an extremely durable product called Vitrelle, which is a laminated composite of two different compressed glass layers. This material is break, crack, chip and scratch resistant, which is dishwasher safe, and can safely be used in a microwave and even a conventional oven. The material is fairly thin and lightweight, making them very easy to use. Because of their thin design, they stack well and take up very little room in the kitchen cabinet. The pattern is simple yet attractive, and it is uniform on all of the dishes. We found no imperfections, other than a slight edge warp on a couple of the large dinner plates. The warping was not enough to affect the usability of the plates, so we have no reason to ask Corelle for replacements.
My wife and I consider these dishes a 5-star product. They may not be the finest dishes for formal dining, but they are perfect for every day, casual use, and they are perfect for my wife to use for her child daycare business. Although we found imperfections in the drinking glasses, we are pleased at how Corelle stepped up and replaced the blemished items, without even asking us to send them copies of our sales receipt, or to ship the defective items back to them. If you have small children in your home, or if you or other family members tend to be a little clumsy and break dishes often, then I highly recommend Corelle dinnerware. It is extremely durable and practical. However, it should be noted that the drinking glasses and coffee mugs are not drop/break resistant like the plates and bowls. The coffee mugs are basic stoneware, and the drinking glasses are…well…they’re made of regular glass. The Vitrelle plates and bowls are backed by a 3-year limited warranty, which covers cracking, breaking, chipping, or permanent stains, caused by normal household use. So go ahead and man-handle those plates and bowls, but use care with the glasses and mugs. The Corelle Livingware (Country Cottage) 16-piece dinnerware set is a great product at a great price. =o)
