I love this Waechtersbach dinnerware, but Amazon shows a cereal bowl in the picture, and says in the description that the set includes the cereal bowl, but that is not true. The set includes a 8 1/2 inch soup plate, NOT a cereal bowl. Both picture and description are wrong! I also ordered some of the individual place settings, and they also have the soup plate, not the cereal bowl as pictured. So the dinnerware gets 5 stars, but Amazon gets 1 star for not having the correct picture and description.

This dinnerware looks rich and elegant. You can feel the quality in each piece when you hold it in your hands. I got white and I couldn’t be happier, the enamel is bright and glossy and there are no imperfections whatsoever.
My clumsy self whacked a plate against the faucet and dropped a mug in the sink but not a chip. These dishes make your meals look very appetizing and are perfect for casual or formal meals. I am excited about buying more Waechterbach pieces…maybe in different colors for some pop.

I’d been looking for new dishes for months. Just when I thought I had found “the ones,” something about them just didn’t fit. Not so with these– I bought the white set with some royal blue accent pieces (chargers and salad bowls), and together they are striking. These are clean, sturdy, and Waeachtersbach offers all types of options depending on what color you prefer. Also, since they’re German, I anticipate them lasting for an exceptionally long time. I couldn’t be happier with my decision to buy these. I do recommend shopping around (I did it via the internet) to find companies who can offer additional pieces for your set. Depending on what you decide to buy, you may be able to find different pieces for your set at different sites.

The orange peel color is just beautiful. Its more of a fall, pumpkin orange than a danger, hunter orange. The finish is shiny, with a bit of a crackle look to it. They are very light, much lighter than stoneware, so its easy to carry a full stack around. The bowls are really just the most perfect shape, its like half a sphere, there’s no chasing the last bits of cereal in these.
My complaints? The mugs don’t stack. At all. Amazon sometimes likes to send out stuff not in the original packing, so in one shipment they sent, us half the plates were broken, because they just threw the plates in the box with some packing material. No good.
I’ve only had these a few days, so I can’t speak to their ability to resist chips or attest to their dishwasher-worthiness.

Our family loves these dishes. The photos posted do not do them justice. The glazes have a depth that is reminiscent of California Pottery Glazes – If you love that era in terms of dishware, Fiesta, Bauer, etc. you will most likely love the colors and depth in these glazes. Food looks great in the red, orange and yellow colors.
